While many media players can play both audio and video, others focus only on one media type or the other. Media player is used to play back multimedia files. Apple failed to see they have only been chasing people away as others with a more universal approach are now able to offer software which is just as good, if not better. ITunes has caused so many issues because it insists on doing things its way.
I keep multiple copies, which will be playable on most playback software in the future - but have broken free of being brand-specific. Nowadays the same music files are enjoyed on multiple devices, each playing them with a variety of playback software - some great, some not so, but the music files are the key. I realised that the individual files mattered - and how they were formated and tagged - not the software indexing and presenting them, which could vary if I so wanted. Like others, once I broke free of the Apple enclave (that is, once my beloved iPod Classic had died and they did not sell a new one), I discovered more universal ways of handling my music. Not any more, as it has lost its steadfast reliability and old skool charm for me. I considered iTunes as the standard others had to match.
I replaced my computer and decided not to install iTunes on it since I retired my iPod Classic.
I did upgrade to iTunes 12 and had many some problems with it (among them was that I'd click on a checkbox and the checkbox below it would be the one actually checked) that I just waited until the interim upgrade was released.
What I'm having to get used to is the sheer number of features that MB has and how to make use of them.Ĭoncerning iTunes (and to take this post back to the topic), I've used iTunes in the past when I had an iPod Classic but didn't care for the program but I had to use it due to my iPod Classic. I don't listen to music on my computer but it seems that MB is about the same as MM. One thing I like about the syncing process is that it tells you what it is doing during the sync, and it does it a logical order (delete unwanted items, copy wanted items that are not on the player, and load/update playlists). Even when loading an entire 128gb memory card it only takes about an hour, which is much faster than with MM. MB was a massive improvement over MM when it comes to syncing my player. I checked around the Internet and found only good comments about the program, so I downloaded and installed it. In the quest for something that might work better I decided to give MusicBee a try. Basically, it took far too long (as in several hours) to sync my player with MM and it would sometimes lock up.
Click to expand.I just started using MusicBee (MB) due to an issue with my Sony Walkman NW-A45 and MediaMonkey (MM).
